United Jet Skids Off O'Hare Runway

January 22, 2016

A United Airlines Boeing 737 carrying 179 passengers and six crew skidded partly off the runway on Friday at Chicago's O'Hare Airport.

No one was injured in the incident, airline and airport officials said.

Chicago had light snow but it was not known whether the incident was weather-related, a Chicago Department of Aviation spokeswoman said. The mishap occurred shortly after noon.

Flight UA734 "partially rolled" off the runway after arriving from San Francisco, a United spokeswoman said. King said maintenance crews will "fully inspect" the aircraft.
