Singapore Air To Return A380 To Lessor

September 14, 2016

Singapore Airlines will not renew the lease on its first Airbus A380 when the initial period ends in 2017.

The airline said it would return the aircraft to the lessor at the end of the 10 year lease which ends next year.

Singapore Air was the first airline to fly the A380 in 2007. It currently has 19 of the type in service with another five on order, due to be delivered from 2017.

Singapore has five 2007-vintage A380s in its fleet. It has not made a decision on the leases on the other four which end next year.
