Lufthansa, Pilots Union Pay Talks Fail

August 14, 2016

Talks between Lufthansa and its pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit have ended with no agreement reached.

Lufthansa and VC have been in closed-door talks since May to agree on a transitional pension scheme, early retirement, working conditions and pay.

They had hoped to reach agreement by the end of July, but agreed an extension. A further extension of talks was greed on August 6.

Negotiations have been going on between the airline and VC for four years. While progress had been made, no agreement had been reached, Lufthansa said.

No further talks are scheduled.

Lufthansa and its main cabin crew union reached a deal in June on a long-running dispute over pay, conditions and pensions.
