Lufthansa Board Approves Brussels Airlines Takeover

September 28, 2016

Lufthansa’s Supervisory Board has approved the full takeover of Brussels Airlines by acquiring the 55 percent of shares it doesn’t own.

The shares will be acquired through the exercise of a call option, the German airline said.

In a statement Lufthansa said it “remains the common objective of Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines to conduct the full acquisition of SN Airholding by Deutsche Lufthansa”.

The transaction is expected to be concluded by early 2017.
