Dubai Operating With One Runway After Crash

August 4, 2016

Dubai Airport is still operating on one runway as the clear up continues following the crash landing of the Emirates Boeing 777 on Wednesday.

The airport authority said in a statement that higher priority was being given to arriving flights and wide-bodied aircraft to ease congestion in the terminals.

It said the recovery would continue for the next 48 hours as efforts continue to clear the backlog of flights.

A total of 116 arriving and 121 departing flights were cancelled and 44 inbound flights diverted following the Emirates crash landing.

Flight disruptions affected 19,000 passengers before the airport resumed limited operations on Wednesday evening.
