Delta Flight Cancellations Continue

August 9, 2016

Delta cancelled more than 300 flights on Tuesday as it worked to restore operations after a power loss that caused extensive disruption to its flights worldwide.

The airline said in a statement it was able to bring systems “back on line and resume flights within a few hours yesterday but we are still operating in recovery mode.”

Delta cancelled around 1,000 flights on Monday after the power outage caused a computer systems crash that impacted its flights around the globe.

It said customers should check the status of their flight on the Delta website.

Delta said it was offering compensation to customers significantly affected by delays or cancellations, including hotel rooms and other accommodations if a cancellation requires an overnight stay.
