Boeing To Assess 787 Production Rate

August 11, 2016

Boeing could cut 777 production rates again and may not increase 787 Dreamliner output as orders soften.

The plane maker said a decision on whether to further reduce 777 rates would be made over the next couple of months.

Boeing said in a regulatory filing in July that it could end production of the 747, as it faces falling orders and pricing pressure.

The company took a charge of USD$814 million after tax on the 747 and USD$847 million on the 787, to account for excess 787 inventory and slow 747 sales.
