BOC Aviation Posts First Half Profit Rise

Aircraft lessor BOC Aviation posted a 24 percent first-half net profit boost on strong passenger demand growth from Asia-Pacific airlines.

In the six months to June 30, BOC’s net profit was USD$212 million, from USD$171 million the previous year. Total revenue rose 8.2 percent to USD$579 million.

With 265 owned and managed aircraft, BOC Aviation is the largest Asia-based plane lessor. It has commitments to acquire 218 aircraft for delivery through to 2021.

BOC specialises in short-haul aircraft, such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. It has 104 A320-family and 110 737-family aircraft currently on order.

BOC Aviation is majority owned by Bank of China.
