American Airlines To Drop Some Cuba Flights

December 1, 2016

American Airlines will reduce the number of flights it offers between the US and Cuba next year as demand disappoints.

American will drop one daily flight each between Miami and Holguin, Santa Clara and Varadero. The total number of daily round-trips will drop from 13 to 10. The changes take effect from February, 2017.

The airline is also looking at downsizing the aircraft it uses on some Cuba routes.

Scheduled airline service between the US and Cuba resumed earlier this week, the first regular flights between the countries for over fifty years.
