United Flight Diverted After Severe Turbulence

A United Airlines flight from Houston to London diverted to Shannon after severe turbulence caused injuries to passengers and crew.

Fourteen passengers and two crew members were injured, with twelve taken to hospital in Limerick. All but one were released soon after treatment.

The United Boeing 767 with 207 passengers and 13 crew was diverted to Shannon because of “severe and unexpected turbulence”.

Passengers were due to be flown to London Heathrow on another plane.
