Transport Strike Hits Brussels Airport

October 7, 2016

Over 100 flights were delayed at Brussels Airport on Friday as a nation-wide strike disrupted public transport.

The airport advised passengers to travel with carry-on bags only as as baggage handlers were expected to join the strike.

Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport.

Social media reports indicated that most of the food and beverage outlets at the airport were closed due to the strike.

The industrial action is in protest at government cutbacks.
