Qatar Airways Announces AS Roma Shirt Sponsorship

Qatar Airways and Italian soccer club AS Roma have agreed a multi-year partnership that will see the airline become the club's official shirt sponsor until 2021.

The value of the deal was not announced, but Roma said it is the largest the club has made and one of the biggest by an Italian football club.

Roma’s president Jim Pallotta said “We are delighted to announce this historic partnership between AS Roma and Qatar Airways, two great brands with global ambitions.”

“As an airline, we understand the power of sport in bringing people together, and our new partnership with AS Roma further underscores this belief. We look forward to working together and celebrating with AS Roma fans all over the globe,” the airline group’s chief executive Akbar Al Baker said.

AS Roma said the team will wear the new Qatar-sponsored shirts at Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final match against Liverpool.
