Qantas Adds Perth-London Non-stop in 2018

December 12, 2016

Qantas will launch non-stop flights from the West Australian city of Perth to London from March 2018.

The 17 hour, 14,498 km (9,060 mile) flight will operate with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and will be the third longest flight in the world.

“When Qantas created the Kangaroo Route to London in 1947, it took four days and nine stops. Now it will take just 17 hours from Perth non-stop,” Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said. “Australians have never had a direct link to Europe before, so the opportunities this opens up are huge.”

Qantas said tickets for the route, the longest flown by Boeing 787s, will go on sale in April 2017.

The flights will operate from Qantas’ domestic terminals in Perth, allowing for easier connections from the rest of Australia.
