IAMSA Takes Full Control Of VivaAerobús

December 8, 2016

Mexico's IAMSA Group has bought out Irelandia Aviation's stake in VivaAerobús to become the sole owner of the low cost carrier.

VivaAerobús was established in 2006 by Irish low cost airline Ryanair’s founders and the Mexican bus company IAMSA. The Mexican company did not disclose the terms of the acquisition.

The purchase agreement includes the sale of IAMSA’s 25 percent stake in VivaColombia to Irelandia Aviation.

Three Irelandia executives will step down from the VivaAerobús board as part of the deal.
