IAG To Add Wi-Fi To Short-Haul Fleet

November 2, 2016

IAG, the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, will introduce inflight Wi-Fi across its short-haul fleet from next year.

The agreement with international satellite telecoms company Inmarsat will give passengers access to broadband internet on mobile devices.

IAG said 341 short-haul aircraft, including 132 British Airways, 125 Vueling, 45 Iberia and 39 Aer Lingus A320-family aircraft will be fitted with a 4G broadband network.

The service will be available on a British Airways A321 from next summer, with Aer Lingus, Iberia and Vueling aircraft to follow later in the year. By 2019, 90 percent of the fleet will be equipped.
