California Pacific Air Sets November Launch Date
August 28, 2018
California Pacific Airlines has announced plans to start scheduled passenger services from its Carlsbad base from November 1.
The airline will fly nonstop routes between McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad and San Jose, California, and Reno-Lake Tahoe, Nevada starting November 1, and to Las Vegas from November 15.
The San Jose service will operate 12-times weekly, Reno-Lake Tahoe four times per week, and Las Vegas launches with three flights each week.
California Pacific’s chairman Ted Vallas said the announcement “marks the culmination of a multi-year effort that will bring significant convenience in air travel between San Diego's North County and the top western-region destinations.
“Our initial set of cities will address the needs of both business and leisure travellers from nearby McClellan-Palomar Airport. Passengers can spend less time fretting the drive to and from the airport, and spend more time enjoying their destination.”
The airline will use 50-seat Embraer ERJ145s on the routes, operating from the passenger terminals at the San Jose, Reno, and Las Vegas airports. California Pacific acquired Kennesaw, Georgia-based Aerodynamics in May and took over the latter’s FAA certification, allowing it to operate scheduled passenger services. Aerodynamics continues flying a limited number of routes in South Dakota and Colorado under the US Essential Air Service programme.
