Boeing Books 20 737 MAX Orders From Oman Air

October 22, 2015

Boeing has booked 20 firm orders for the 737 MAX from Oman Air, an order that will nearly double the airline's 737 fleet.

Oman Air's order includes conversions of six 737 NGs to 737 MAXs, for a net gain of 14 in Boeing's order book.

Oman Air currently operates 21 Boeing 737s.

Boeing and Airbus are battling for market share in the large single-aisle jet market. Boeing had booked 2,869 orders for the 737 MAX by the end of September, compared with more than 4,300 for the Airbus A320neo.
