Allegiant Air Orders 12 Airbus A320ceos

July 29, 2016

Allegiant Air has signed a purchase agreement for 12 Airbus A320ceo aircraft.

This order marks the first time the low-cost carrier has purchased new aircraft rather than lease. The aircraft are expected to enter service between 2017 and 2018.

“With Airbus preparing to transition production (to the A320ceo), we were able to negotiate an order for twelve end-of-line slots,” said Allegiant chief executive Maury Gallagher.

The A320ceos will be powered by CFM56 engines, in an order worth USD$270 million at list prices.

Allegiant currently operates a fleet of 15 A319ceo and 16 A320ceo aircraft.
