24 Injured As JetBlue Flight Hits Turbulence

A JetBlue flight hit severe turbulence on Thursday evening, causing injuries to 22 passengers and two crew members.

Flight 429 from Boston to Sacramento diverted and landed safely in Rapid City, South Dakota, where the injured were taken to hospital.

Rapid City Regional Hospital said 24 people were treated and released with minor injuries.

Passengers were reported saying the aircraft dropped suddenly and several people were thrown out of their seats, hitting overhead luggage bins.

A flight attendant was reported to have been injured in a galley when her head hit the ceiling.
