San Miguel is still interested in bidding for the Mactan-Cebu Airport project despite reports it might be disqualified, according to a report in The Philippine Star.

The conglomerate said in a statement to the country's stock exchange that it "satisfies the criteria for participants in the bidding process."

The move follows reports that companies with minority shares in airlines will be banned from taking part in the bid. San Miguel owns a stake in Philippine Airlines.
