Low cost carrier Ryanair has announced eight new routes from Scottish airports to begin operating in summer 2013.

New summer flights from Edinburgh Airport will go to Corfu, Cagliari, Beziers, Bologna, Katowice and Santander, while new flights from Glasgow Prestwick go to Warsaw and Rzeszow.

Ryanair had cut back on flights from Edinburgh Airport following a row with BAA, the previous owners, but it has now reached an agreement with new owners Global Infrastructure Partners.

It is also to step up the frequency of flights on five other routes from Edinburgh and four from Prestwick.
