AOT Sees 2012 Passenger Growth of 5-6 Pct
Airports of Thailand said on Friday that it expected passenger traffic at Bangkok's main Suvarnabhumi Airport to rise 5-6 percent to more than 50 million in its fiscal year ending September 2012.
Acting president Somchai Sawasdeepon also said that the company expects to see increased congestion at the airport as demand for travel increases.
AOT has plans to build a third runway and a new domestic passenger terminal in a combined development worth THB20 billion baht (USD$648 million).
He also told reporters that the company sees limited impact from US economic uncertainty and the European debt crisis as 70 percent of its passengers are flying within Asia.
