Air Nostrum, a unit of Spanish airline Iberia, said on Thursday it would not present a bid for Scandinavian airline SAS's subsidiary Spanair, leaving the path clear for its parent.

Earlier, Iberia said it would bid for the unlisted company, Spain's second-biggest carrier, less than 24 hours after potential suitor travel group Grupo Marsans pulled out of the bidding.
