Airlines Condor and TUIfly are planning to file lawsuits over the planned expansion of Frankfurt Airport, they said on Thursday.

As part of the expansion, flights at night would be substantially reduced which would lead to significant disadvantages for the airlines, Condor said.

Routes for northern Africa, including Egypt, and the Canary Islands would be hard to run economically with planned restrictions on night flights, TUIfly said.

Lufthansa, the biggest airline at Frankfurt, said it would only comment on a possible lawsuit on Friday, the last day a lawsuit can be filed.
