Transat To Buy Airline Seat Company
Transat A.T. said on Friday it has agreed to acquire British tour operator The Airline Seat Company for GBP20.4 million (USD$37.5 million), as the parent of leisure airline Air Transat further expands in Europe.
Airline Seat Co, which operates under the Canadian Affair brand, is one of the largest British tour operators specializing in UK-Canada routes, and has annual sales of about GBP75 million (USD$137.7 million), Transat said.
The deal is expected to close at the end of the month.
Montreal-based Transat already has a strong presence in Canada and France.
