Wednesday brought a number of orders for regional airliners for Embraer, ATR and the new Mitsubishi Spacejet.

KLM Cityhopper announced its intention to purchase up to 35 Embraer E195-E2 regional jets in a deal valued at USD$2.48 billion at list prices. The deal is split between 15 firm orders and purchase rights for a further 20 aircraft, and is subject to final agreement.

KlM's announcement builds on two deals Embraer scored on Tuesday, with Binter Canarias and Fuji Dream Airlines.

Spain's Binter confirmed purchase rights for two additional E195-E2s in a USD$141.8 million deal, and Japan’s Fuji Dream Airlines placed a firm order for two E175s, valued at USD$97.2 million, both based on list prices.

European regional aircraft manufacturer ATR announced a total of 75 commitments on Wednesday, including 35 firm orders, with a total value of USD$1.7 billion.

The commitments include 17 orders for the ATR 42-600S, a short take off and landing version of the ATR 42. ATR announced three launch customers for the aircraft - Air Tahiti, Elix Aviation and an undisclosed customer.

Mitsubishi Aircraft and an undisclosed North American customer have signed a memorandum of understanding to start formal negotiations for 15 of the Japanese company's SpaceJet M100 aircraft. Deliveries of the regional jet will begin in 2024 if a deal is agreed.

Mitsubishi announced the rebranding of its MRJ range of commercial aircraft prior to the Paris Air Show, realigning the product range to meet the requirements of US airline regional operations.
