Lufthansa, United Establish Cargo JV

Lufthansa Cargo and United Airlines have signed a joint venture agreement to cooperate on cargo routes between Europe and the United States.

The airlines said the JV will provide greater flexibility with new route combinations and more than 600 direct connections each week between the US and Europe.

The carriers will align their cargo IT systems and business processes to allow access from either company’s booking channels.

United and Lufthansa already have a passenger joint venture on US-Europe routes.
