Skyscanner, the UK-based online flight comparison business, plans to recruit 250 employees in the next year, doubling its total employee numbers.
The company said it had planned to recruit 150 new employees in Scotland and 100 over its offices in Beijing, Singapore and for a new US office it plans to open in Miami.
The employees in the web development and sales and marketing functions it is seeking in Scotland will be based in the Skyscanner HQ in Edinburgh or a new operations centre planned for Glasgow.
Mark Logan, the company's chief operating officer, said that more than 20 million people around the world are using the web service each month to find flights, hotels and hire cars.
Skyscanner's turnover grew by 65 percent to GBP£33.5 million (USD$52 million) in 2012.
