Brazilian airline Gol received approval from antitrust regulator Cade on Wednesday to buy rival WebJet.
Permission for the BRR96 million reais (USD$47 million) was granted on the condition that the airline maintains minimum service standards at Rio de Janeiro's domestic airport.
Analysts quoted in news reports said they believed the airline would face challenging conditions with fuel prices rising but demand not growing.
