Turkey's national carrier Turkish Airlines had a net loss of TRY29.38 million lira (USD$16 million) in the first quarter, compared with a loss of TRY219.8 million in the same period a year earlier, it said in a filing to the Istanbul bourse.
The company's sales rose 35 percent to TRY2.84 billion lira in the first quarter from TRY2.10 billion a year earlier.
The airline operates scheduled services to 146 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
