Jet Airways, India's largest private carrier, is in initial talks with FedEx to launch a dedicated cargo airline, the Mint newspaper reported Tuesday, citing sources.

The new airline would be set up either as a joint venture or in alliance with FedEx, the newspaper said, quoting an unidentified independent consultant and two unnamed executives of Jet Airways.

A spokeswoman for Jet said she was unaware of the development.
