Vienna airport operator Flughafen Wien said on Monday talks with contractors over work at its new Skylink terminal have not yet led to an agreement on how to reduce the EUR830 million euro (USD$1.2 billion) investment.
The operator in June suspended all work on the terminal extension, which has been hit by delays and cost overruns, and started talks with contractors about how to reduce the overall budget.
Flughafen said on Monday that those talks were progressing well, but that it could not give a new, reduced estimate for the costs of the terminal yet.
"Negotiations... could not be concluded to an extent that would be necessary to give a precise new estimate," Flughafen said in a statement. "At any rate, there is no indication that the forecast investment of EUR830 million will be exceeded."
