Malaysian low cost carrier AirAsia is to postpone delivery of eight Airbus A320-200 aircraft due in 2011, the Star newspaper reported Monday.

"We will defer eight of the 24 deliveries for 2011," AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes was quoted as saying by the paper.

The aircraft will now be delivered in 2014, the paper said.
