Delta Picks Wieden+Kennedy Ad Agency

Delta Air Lines on Friday said it picked the Wieden+Kennedy agency to create a new advertising and branding campaign for the airline following its takeover of Northwest Airlines.

Wieden+Kennedy, an independent agency based in Portland, Oregon, that is perhaps best known for its work with Nike, will oversee the Delta account worldwide as the lead creative agency.

Delta said it plans to present the new campaign to employees this year and unveil it externally in 2010.

Wieden+Kennedy's office in New York will lead the work, with support from other regional offices.

The two airlines merged in October in a USD$2.6 billion deal that created the world's biggest airline.
