The board of Spanish airline Iberia took no decision whether to go ahead with plans to merge with British Airways in their monthly meeting on Thursday, despite saying that decisive news should come in March, a source close to the board said.

Iberia Chairman Fernando Conte had said March would be a key month for the merger, and analysts had hoped for news on Thursday about the share split, management positions and where the airline would site its new headquarters.
