Mexican airport operator Asur posted a 5.8 percent rise in second-quarter net profit on Thursday, driven by solid revenue and passenger traffic growth despite the airline industry's struggle with high fuel prices.
Asur's April-June net profit was MXP255 million pesos (USD$25 million), up from MXP241 million a year earlier.
Revenue increased nearly 12 percent to MXP808 million, while passenger traffic rose 10 percent.
The company operates nine airports in southern Mexico, including one in the popular Caribbean resort of Cancun.
