Northwest Airlines said on Tuesday Neal Cohen, its executive in charge of strategy and international operations and the chief of its regional airline unit, will leave the company on June 16.
Cohen, 48, who was previously Northwest's chief financial officer, said he was looking to pursue opportunities outside the airline industry.
Northwest agreed last month to be bought by rival Delta Air Lines in a deal worth more than USD$3 billion.
