Lufthansa plans to raise the surcharges it imposes on customers to offset the price of fuel as a result of rising oil prices, it said on Thursday.
"In recent weeks, crude oil and kerosene prices have continued to rise and have now reached an all-time high. In response to this development, Lufthansa is adjusting its fuel surcharge on all its flights," it said in a statement.
The fuel surcharge on long-haul routes will be raised by EUR5 euros to EUR82 each way. On domestic German and intra-European routes it will increase by EUR4 to EUR21 per leg.
The increases will apply from May 14, Lufthansa added.
