Aer Lingus Raises Fuel Surcharges On US Routes

Irish carrier Aer Lingus will increase its fuel surcharges on routes to the United States from next week due to the surge in the price of oil, it said on Wednesday.

The extra charge on flights between Ireland and New York, Boston or Washington will rise to USD$100 per sector from USD$75, while customers flying to and from San Francisco or Los Angeles will have to pay a charge of USD$120 compared with an earlier USD$99.

Aer Lingus, which last raised its surcharges on US routes in March, said it would continue to make adjustments where appropriate.
