Continental Airlines said on Wednesday it will record a non-cash tax charge of between USD$70 million and USD$140 million in the fourth quarter.
Given the technical nature of the charge -- largely related to changes in pension plan calculations for pilots -- the airline said in a regulatory filing, it will not finalize the amount until February.
"As a result Continental will be presenting pre-tax results" when it releases partial quarterly and full-year financial statements on Thursday.
