Continental's November Unit Revenue Rises

Continental Airlines on Monday said that November consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile, or unit revenues, rose between 7 percent and 8 percent.

The fourth largest US airline also said that due to significantly higher costs for jet fuel it was cutting its capacity growth estimate for 2008.

It now expects to grow its mainline capacity 2 percent to 3 percent in 2008, down from its previous guidance of 3 percent to 4 percent. It projects its 2008 mainline domestic capacity will be down slightly for the year.

Continental said its consolidated load factor fell 0.6 points from a year earlier to 80.1 percent.
