Belgian airline SN Brussels wants to buy a stake in Rwanda's flag carrier Rwandair Express, national dailies reported on Wednesday.
The Rwandan government is considering putting up to 40 percent of the airline into private hands, reported De Standaard citing company officials.
"We hope that by the end of this year to have more clarity over plans of the Rwandan government," Michel Meyfroidt, who works for SN's Africa network, was quoted as saying. "If the government decides to privatize the airline, then we are certainly interested."
No-one at the company could be reached for further comment.
SN Brussels has recently bought a stake in a new flag carrier in Cameroon.
