Two international airports in Romania were briefly evacuated on Tuesday due to bomb threats but anti-terrorist units who checked Bucharest's Henri Coanda and Baneasa airports found nothing, officials said.
An airport official at Henri Coanda, Romania's main international airport, said an anonymous phone call was made at 11:05 a.m. (0805 GMT) warning that a bomb had been placed in the international arrivals terminal.
"There were up to 100 people evacuated, no bomb was found and things are now back to normal," said Transport Ministry spokesman Sorin Manole. He said people were allowed back to the terminal after an hour.
Another call, threatening a bomb at Bucharest's smaller Baneasa Airport, was received at 11:20 a.m., the ministry said in a statement.
"Checks were made and they proved it was a false alarm," it said.
Officials at the two airports said no flights were delayed.
