Thales, SES Announce Inflight WiFi Service

Thales and SES have signed an agreement to provide high speed inflight Internet to the Americas from 2017.

French aerospace group Thales and Luxembourg-based satellite operator SES said in a statement that with the new FlytLIVE service, "passengers will enjoy full Internet services including video streaming, games, social media and live television”.

The service will be available in 2017 using two existing SES satellites, augmented by a third set to launch in 2020. The new satellite will cover North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean and the Atlantic ocean.
