Flybe Names Former CityJet Head As CEO

December 20, 2016

UK regional carrier Flybe has appointed Christine Ourmieres-Widener as its chief executive.

Ourmieres-Widener is a former CEO of Dublin-based CityJet, and prior to that an executive at Air France. She will take up her new post in January.

The appointment comes after previous chief executive Saad Hammad left suddenly in October. Non-executive chairman Simon Laffin assumed the role of executive chairman during the search for the new CEO.

Last month Flybe posted a first-half net profit drop of 50 percent, citing “a more challenging environment”.
