Delta Pilots Approve New Contract

December 1, 2016

Pilots at Delta Air Lines have ratified a new contract that will give a 30 percent pay increase over three years.

The Air Line Pilots Association, International said 82 percent of votes cast approved the contract. The voter turnout was 95 percent.

The agreement “ensures Delta pilots remain among the very top of airline pilot wage earners,” Delta MEC chairman John Malone said in a letter to union members.

Delta said “The new pilot agreement contains an industry-leading package of pay, benefits and work rules.”

Approval of the four year contract, backdated to start from January this year, comes after pilots rejected an offer from Delta last year. The newly accepted deal maintains an already agreed profit-sharing scheme that last year’s offer sought to remove.
