China Southern Orders 12 Boeing 787-9s

China Southern Airlines and Boeing have agreed the terms of a 12-aircraft 787-9 order.

The order, due to be be delivered from 2018, is worth USD$3.2 billion at list prices.

The 787s have “helped us… make our operation and services more appealing to passengers," China Southern chief executive Tan Wangeng said. "The additional new 787-9s will further increase our capacity and services for our long-haul routes."

China Southern has a fleet of over 500 aircraft including 10 787-8s already in operation.
