European airlines were operating normal schedules to and from France today after the latest strike called by public sector unions over government pension reforms met with a lukewarm response.
In contrast to the travel chaos caused by earlier stoppages, disruption to travel over Thursday and Friday has been only minor with the capital, Paris, relatively trouble free.
Most of the country's air traffic controllers reported for duty, enabling both domestic and international flights to function normally. Airlines have warned, however, that passengers may encounter some delays.
Rail services were also suffering fewer problems than anticipated, but there were pockets of disruption in the south of the country where the major cities of Marseilles and Toulouse experienced some transport difficulties.
